What is Bloodlines?
The world of Bloodlines is a world in transition. The human city-states of the Rune Sea are undergoing a renaissance, and
new modes of thought are steadily opposed by old traditional viewpoints. After a long, brutal, and nearly self-destructive
war two centuries ago, the human cities have formed a lasting peace with one another. This peace has an unusual twist to it,
though: instead of fighting out their disagreements with large armies, humanity has resorted to a war of intrigue and
assassination, as nobles fight amongst each other for the trappings of power and authority.
Still, all is not peaceful; to the south, a large empire of unorganized but brutal goblins waits for a warlord.
From the seas, dreaded locathah launch swift and lethal raids, and in every forest, mountain, and swamp strange magical
creatures lie in wait for the hapless traveler.
Still, the human desire to explore has never been greater. Each city-state hopes to secure more of the powerful, and often
dangerous, relics of the ancient Fay Empire which once enslaved all of humanity. Moreover, the renaissance has kindled that
spirit of exploration and a fervor for expansion -expansion which may well bring humanity into conflict with as-yet
undiscovered threats.
The world is expanding into new horizons on all fronts through both exploration and social change, and the stage is set for
intrigue and adventure!
